Jeff - I will give you the quick version of how we found the boat becuase buying a sailboat has many steps from what type of boat, the size, the layout, the list goes on for miles. So when you’re done with that you look at how much money you have and try and make it work. After looking at many boats we found one we liked in Seattle and went back to our broker to put together an offer. After a few weeks we lost the boat to another buyer because we didnt have any room to move on the price. What the seller wanted was too close to our limit. Once seeing the C&C Landfall 43 we were hooked, so back to the drawing board. We found the same boat in New York for a good price. Amber and a friend flew to New York for the weekend to look at the boat to see if she looked as good as the pictures and wasn’t just a face shot. Amber gave the “ok” so inspections and offers could start. In the end the survey of the boat and engine were good but not perfect and some figures were moved around. Before we knew it we were owners of 43′ sailboat on the other side of another country. The whole process of getting the boat ready to be shipped by truck, dealing with the marina and workers in New York over the phone and not being able to tell people to their face that “time is money” and that “they are stupid” was too much for me, and “thats all I got to say about that….”
